Cisco UC on UCS DocWiki
April 12th, 2010I haven’t really touched UCS yet, but from the looks of it, most UC guys will need to be somewhat familiar with the platform. In the short term, I’m looking forward to the UCS C Series rack mount servers taking the place of the MCS servers, although I believe general UCS deployments on the blade systems will come first. This week Cisco released the docwiki for UC on UCS.

This is part of the continued initiative to wikify Cisco documentation. So far I am not completely sold on this new medium. There is something nice about being able to download the pdf to read offline, but honestly I can’t really remember the last time I was offline other than in a airplane that wasn’t my choice. Browsing the information is smooth and easy to follow much like the wiki’s for UCCX, Presence, and Meetingplace. I expect this to be probably the way all Cisco docs are going.

Yeah, UC on UCS is coming in a big way. Currently C-series blades are available for sale but as you said the implementation will be first supported on B-Series.
For small size company B-Series is going to be definitely overkill.
